Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane transporting a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical problem.
