Arne Slot Asserts He Feels Safe and Retains The Club's Support After PSV Eindhoven Loss

The Liverpool head coach admitted that it's expected for doubts to be raised about his position after another heavy loss against PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool endured their 9th loss in 12 games, representing the club's poorest run after being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a punishing evening at their home ground.

“I feel secure, things are alright, I have got a lot of backing from management,” Slot remarked.

“It's important to change things and secure a win obviously but if you are working as a coach and struggling then it's typical that doubts arise.”

He added, “I am OK with my situation. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a tough spot but it is about time that we improved our results.”

Talks with Club Management

When asked to elaborate on his dialogues with the team officials, the head coach said:

“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful to the team and for me and we have those conversations but they don't phone me every single minute each day to say they trust me.”

He further stated, “During our regular discussions I sense the trust. But I've not talked to them after this game so far so we'll see.”

Persistent Failings and Squad Reaction

The manager expressed regret over recurring shortcomings from his team in their Champions League defeat, namely wasted chances and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was more direct in his evaluation of the club’s predicament.

“I haven't got the answers. Frankly, I do not. I’m saying that to everyone,” the midfielder stated.

“It is unacceptable. I don’t even have to wait to think about it. I'm beyond feeling anger internally. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the words.”

He added, “It's difficult because I play for the club I love. I support them, and I've watched this club for years.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a spell like this with performances this poor.”

He stated, “However we still have the emblem on our chest. And until it is taken away, we'll continue to battle.”

“Our aim is to bring this squad return to where it needs to be, prove once more the values of this club and the reason it's called the best team in the planet.”

“But right now, things are bad and it must improve.”
