Colts Take On Falcons in Berlin – NFL Week 10

Hello, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Everything good I hope on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming directly from Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (7-2) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on German soil and the initial in the capital city.

Pregame Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the coin toss. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. Loving the sartorial choices today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the German anthem. Classy.

Opening Period Action

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

And we're off! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as Josh Downs fails to catch a quick pass from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they try and snap their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard line. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets Jonathan Taylor up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the middle of the defense for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Additional Tenth Week Matchups

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 1 PM EST and 6 PM GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Houston Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Miami Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v New England Patriots (7-2)

What a feast. I’m planting my flag on the Vikings and Ravens playing out the game of the day.
