Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
